Fixed the launch title's flaws; over 450 cars and richer content from the very start of the career.

Forza Motorsport 6 fixed most of the shortcomings that plagued the launch fifth entry, offering substantially richer content right from the start — more than four hundred fifty cars and over two dozen circuits, including a newly rendered track in Rio de Janeiro. The return of beloved tracks from previous entries and a wider selection of both historic and modern cars gave the career mode noticeably more staying power from the very first minute compared to its predecessor. Turn 10 Studios improved the weather system, which now included night races with realistic headlight lighting and rain with puddles affecting tire grip, forcing players to hunt for the dry line, a first in the series' history.

The Drivatar system underwent further refinement of its AI behavior, better simulating the aggression and mistakes of real players, whose data the opponents learned from, so the starting grid felt less like a scripted train and more like a race against people. The game placed emphasis on a return to an honest economy without microtransactions following criticism of the previous entry, offering more generous rewards for driving and a more elaborate career structure divided into seasons by car type. Mod cards were also added, letting players increase their earnings in exchange for tougher race conditions, such as disabled assists or a worse starting position.

The multiplayer supported races with up to twenty-four players simultaneously and also offered modes dedicated to specific series, such as Le Mans prototypes or American muscle cars. Visually, the game ran at 1080p and a steady sixty frames per second, which, together with its elaborate engine sound design, placed it among the technically most advanced racing simulations of the generation; the deep assist options also let the game be tuned from relaxed arcade driving to raw simulation without any aids whatsoever. Forza Motorsport 6 is therefore seen by many fans as the series' return to its roots of honest, content-packed simulation racing.
