Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection

Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection brings to PlayStation 5 a remastered version of the two final installments in the adventure series about treasure hunter Nathan Drake — the extensive Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and the standalone expansion The Lost Legacy, starring Chloe Frazer alongside the mercenary Nadine. Both games were reworked with support for higher resolution, smoother frame rates of up to 60 frames per second, and noticeably faster loading, which makes the cinematic direction that Naughty Dog has always been famous for stand out even more.

The gameplay combines third-person cover shooting with acrobatic climbing across cliffs and ancient ruins and elaborate puzzles inspired by historical mysteries and long-lost civilizations. Effective vehicle chases, entire buildings collapsing during battles, and carefully choreographed action sequences give the game a pace comparable to major adventure blockbusters. Cover-based combat and dynamic shootouts alternate with quieter passages full of dialogue and character interaction, giving the story emotional weight comparable to a great Hollywood adventure film. The visuals on PS5 are among the most technically impressive of the entire generation, with detailed environmental textures ranging from snowy mountains to dense jungles to beautifully lit sunsets.

The collection was received by critics as one of the best ways to experience the culmination of the Uncharted series on modern hardware, confirming the quality of the original titles even years after their initial release. Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection remains a benchmark example of a linear cinematic action-adventure and a reminder of the influence the series has had on the entire genre of third-person adventure games, including many titles that have drawn inspiration from it since.

Why play it: For players who want to experience the peak of the Uncharted series in its best available form — a benchmark example of a cinematic third-person action-adventure.
