Hitman 3

Stealth akce 2021 IO Interactive Hitman ⏱ Medium · ~3–10 h ⭐ Must-play

Concludes the World of Assassination trilogy; every location is a clockwork mechanism full of characters.

Hitman 3 concludes the World of Assassination trilogy and is also its most confident entry. This time Agent 47 settles accounts with the mysterious organization Providence, and his journey leads from a skyscraper in Dubai through an English manor, a Berlin club, rainy Chongqing, and an Argentine winery estate to a night train in the Carpathians. Each location is a clockwork mechanism full of characters on fixed schedules, and the player enters it as an uninvited guest who must find a crack in the machinery.

The principle remains untouched: disguises, patient observation, coincidences that look like accidents. New this time is a camera for scanning locks and terminals, and above all a complete mission conceived as a detective mystery, in which 47 investigates a murder and can expose the killer — or simply walk his own path. The game can import all the locations from the previous two entries, turning it into one enormous collection of sandboxes with challenges, contracts, and rotating targets whose exploration takes dozens of hours. On PlayStation 5 it impresses with fast loading, stable performance, and especially interior lighting; the Dubai heights and Berlin strobe lights rank among the best-looking scenes in the series.

The atmosphere thrives on the contrast between cold professionalism and the near-comedic absurdity that arises when the player decides to improvise. The music is understated, with tension built more by ambient noise and crowd voices. Critics received the game very well, and many called it the best entry in the entire trilogy, praised above all for its level design. A later PS VR2 version offered first-person stealth, and the whole trilogy has been merged into a single package, making entry into Agent 47's world easier than ever. Alongside the story missions, the game is kept alive by regularly returning targets available only for a limited time and player-made contracts, which keep familiar locations constantly changing. It's precisely this bottomless replayability that makes Hitman a series worth returning to for years.
