The complete Agent 47 trilogy finally runs on Switch 2 without needing to stream.

Hitman World of Assassination - Signature Edition brought the fully modernized trilogy starring Agent 47 to Nintendo Switch 2 in a form that, on the previous console, existed only as a streamed version dependent on a connection. The core remains unchanged: you get a sprawling, densely populated map, one or more targets, and complete freedom in how you approach them. You can disguise yourself as a cook, a mechanic, or a guest, slip through a service entrance, poison a drink, drop a chandelier, or solve the whole situation from a distance with a sniper rifle. Every map is a clockwork machine that runs independently of you, and the game expects you to play it again and again until you grasp its rhythm.

That very replayability is why the title is so substantial. Each level offers dozens of story opportunities, challenges, and alternative ways to complete the job, on top of modes with randomized targets or contracts that players create themselves. Signature Edition pools maps from all three entries into a single menu, so you move from an Italian town to Miami, Mumbai, or an Austrian mountain clinic without switching games and without losing progress. Progression is also tracked across the entire trilogy, so unlocking gear makes sense regardless of which map you pick.

On Switch 2, the game benefits from running locally, free of dependence on connection quality. It also makes use of the Joy-Con's mouse mode, which noticeably sharpens aiming, and gyroscopic fine-tuning. The atmosphere rests on the contrast between elegant, quiet surroundings and the cold brutality of the craft, underscored by a minimalist orchestral soundtrack that swells the moment someone spots you. The series was widely praised after its 2016 reboot for returning to the principle of a playground rather than a corridor, and it became a benchmark for modern stealth. Today it's one of the most substantial and best-designed titles you can get on Switch 2.
