Psychonauts
A creative platformer by Tim Schafer, a cult gem that flopped commercially but delighted critics. You play the young psychonaut Raz, who dives into the minds of other characters that take the form of bizarre, brilliantly designed levels. Each mind is its own world with an original idea, humor and an unforgettable atmosphere. Superbly written dialogue, artistic boldness and unusual imagination make Psychonauts one of the most original games of the generation and a game that deserves far more attention.

Psychonauts launched in 2005 on PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC with the same story, levels and gameplay, but the versions differ noticeably on the technical side. The PS2 had the weakest hardware of the three and struggled more than the competition with the game's ambitious visuals and physics effects, showing up as lower smoothness and longer loading, especially in the more demanding levels. The Xbox version ran more steadily with a cleaner picture, while the PC version offered the highest resolution and the option to tune settings to your own hardware. Among players, the PC and Xbox versions are still considered the technically strongest, while the PS2 release is the most modest, though a complete version content-wise.
