Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

The megalomaniacal peak of the PS2 era. San Andreas offered not one city but an entire state with three metropolises, countryside, desert and mountains. The story of CJ Johnson, about a return home and gang wars, was accompanied by unprecedented freedom: you could gain weight, work out, learn to fly planes or customise your cars. The enormous scope, cult characters and quote-packed dialogue turned the game into a phenomenon. Dozens of hours of content and countless side activities still astound to this day. One of the most ambitious and best-selling games on the console ever.
