God of War II

The peak of the PS2's technical capabilities and one of the console's finest swan songs. The sequel refined everything from the first game: the battles are snappier, the bosses even bigger, and set pieces with the Colossus of Rhodes or the Fates are breathtaking. Kratos once again sets out against the gods, this time against Zeus himself and against fate itself. Polished combos, cleverer puzzles and endless spectacle keep the pace up from start to finish. Astounding production values on hardware that should long since have been past its prime. A must for action fans.
