Rogue Spear with the Urban Operations expansion in one package of new weapons and missions.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear + Mission Pack – Urban Operations built on the first installment and arrived on the Dreamcast as a package combining the base game Rogue Spear with the Urban Operations expansion. Once again the series was made by Red Storm Entertainment, which further developed the tactical concept from the first game with new weapons, equipment, and missions set in urban environments, expanding both the roster of operations and the range of gear a player could assemble before a mission according to the type of environment and expected resistance.

In this sequel too, players commanded an elite counter-terrorist team, with the core of the game remaining the same: careful planning of the approach, splitting squads into multiple groups with their own routes, and tense firefights in which a single mistake could cost a team member's life and mean instant mission failure. The added missions from Urban Operations focused on actions in urban built-up areas, bringing more narrow streets, multi-story buildings, and more complicated lines of sight on the enemy, so the player had to weigh squad positioning before entering a building, and the order in which individual rooms were cleared, much more carefully.

The console version had to find a way to translate the complex mouse-and-keyboard controls to a gamepad, which remained the biggest challenge of the conversion — the planning screens had to be simplified and adapted for control via analog sticks without losing the depth of mission preparation. The tactical core of the game nonetheless remained untouched, offering the Dreamcast another distinctive tactical shooter that stood in contrast to the faster arcade action available on the console and appealed to players looking for a slower, more deliberate pace.

Why play it: It expands the tactical gameplay of the first Rainbow Six with urban missions and new equipment for lovers of deliberate tactics.
