Rayman Raving Rabbids 2

Party hra / minihry 2007 Ubisoft Montpellier Rayman ⏱ Short · up to ~3 h

The Rabbids have kidnapped Rayman again; dozens of new minigames make full use of Wii Remote motions.

Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 continues from the first installment, in which the funny but dangerous Rabbids kidnapped Rayman and forced him to entertain himself according to their utterly unpredictable rules. The second installment expands the range of minigames with dozens of new disciplines and, for the first time in the series, fully relies on Wii Remote motion controls, with which the player controls the vast majority of them, whether swinging, aiming, or mimicking a specific movement according to on-screen instructions.

The minigames parody common genres as well as popular culture - from dance and rhythm challenges through sporting contests and simple rhythm duels to outright absurd sketches in which the Rabbids parody well-known films, commercials, or music videos of their time. The game also newly offers a more coherent story line linked by animated cutscenes and more polished transitions between individual minigames, giving it a more unified feel than the somewhat fragmented collection of sketches in the first installment. It also gained the ability to play a number of minigames with several people at once, which makes the second installment a distinctly more social experience, meant more for playing at get-togethers with friends than for a solo playthrough. Humor remains the foundation - the Rabbids comment on the action with shrieks, grimaces, and utterly nonsensical behavior, which makes the game more of an observational comedy full of exaggerated gags than a classic action game with a fixed goal.

Why play it: Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 is an ideal choice for family gaming on Wii, where its motion controls draw in even players who otherwise never pick up a controller, and its short, funny minigames work well both as a group and in individual rounds taken in turns by several people in front of one TV.
