FPS based on the RoboCop film saga; the crushing power of the Auto-9 pistol on the streets of Detroit.

RoboCop: Rogue City is a first-person shooter from Teyon studio that continues the story of the RoboCop film saga, set shortly after the events of the second film in the streets of a corrupt Detroit. Playing as RoboCop, the player moves through the city, handling side tasks tied to upholding the law — from domestic disputes to petty crime — as well as the main investigation into a sprawling criminal organization, combining the massive firepower of his Auto-9 pistol with the slowed, heavy movement befitting the character's robotic nature.

On PlayStation 5, the game faithfully recreates the visual style of the late-1980s films, including the characteristic design of weapons, police uniforms, vehicles, and the overall atmosphere of a decaying metropolis. RoboCop's voice was performed by Peter Weller, the actor who played the character in the original films, which together with a musical theme inspired by the film source material lends the game a strong nostalgic atmosphere for fans of the series. Combat is straightforward but rewards the player for tactically using cover, different ammo types, and the environment against street gangs.

RoboCop: Rogue City surprised many players and critics with the quality of its execution as a smaller but honestly crafted licensed game with an emphasis on atmosphere, humor, and fan service. The player also repeatedly has to decide whether to act by the strict letter of the law or choose a faster, more forceful solution, which at least partly reflects the moral dilemmas that made the original film famous. Gradual ability upgrades and new weapons give the player a sense of growing power without the game losing the straightforward, action-oriented character typical of the entire film series. It showed that even a studio without a large budget can handle a beloved film license with respect and create a game that appeals both to fans of the original films and to players of classic first-person action shooters.

Why play it: Thanks to its honest handling of the film's atmosphere, humor, and moral dilemmas, it's a surprisingly solid licensed shooter that will please fans of the original as well as players looking for straightforward action.
