Neon White

Neon White is a fast action platformer with shooter and speedrun elements from studio Angel Matrix, in which the player, as a former assassin named Neon White, finds themselves in heaven with the task of hunting down fleeing demons in order to earn a coveted shot at redemption. Each level is a short, precisely designed run in which the player collects cards that function as both weapons and movement abilities - discarding them enables a double jump, sprint, teleport, or explosion - with the goal of achieving the fastest possible time and earning the highest medal.

On PlayStation 5, the game boasts smooth performance and instant control response, which is absolutely essential for a genre built on millisecond precision and repeated attempts at routes. Visually, it combines a bright, stylized anime character design with minimalist level design, and the energetic electronic soundtrack reinforces the sense of constant forward momentum without stopping. Between levels, the game also offers lighthearted visual-novel segments that develop the characters' relationships and backstories.

Neon White received very positive reviews upon its original release on PC and Switch thanks to its original fusion of platformer, shooter, and speedrun, and its later arrival on PlayStation 5 allowed fans of fast-paced games to try the title on a Sony console as well.
