In the harsh desert region of Orre you catch so-called Shadow Pokemon stolen by a criminal organization and purify their hearts. Battles take place exclusively in pairs, which adds tactical depth. A darker tone, an emphasis on story and the ability to transfer Pokemon from Game Boy Advance make Colosseum a refreshing detour from the main series for its fans.
