The debut work of a sixteen-year-old Fuxoft, one of the oldest surviving Czechoslovak games.

Poklad was created in 1984 as the very first game by sixteen-year-old František Fuka, later the legendary Fuxoft, making it one of the oldest surviving computer games made in Czechoslovakia. Fuka programmed it on a friend's computer, since he couldn't yet afford his own ZX Spectrum, and then distributed the game on cassettes among a small community of eight-bit owners of the time, who played and copied it back and forth among themselves. The player finds themselves in a magical land divided into a grid of rooms across three floors, tasked with finding five hidden treasures, communicating with the surroundings through simple text commands and gradually piecing together a map of the unknown world purely from room descriptions.

The controls are typical of the early text-adventure genre: the player enters short commands, examines room descriptions, and collects items that open the way forward, with the individual levels connecting logically and progress requiring systematic exploration of every corner. Graphics are either entirely absent or purely incidental, so the whole atmosphere rests on the text and the player's imagination — a common approach on the ZX Spectrum and its domestic clones in the mid-1980s, since writing a text parser was far more accessible to beginning programmers than drawing animated characters, and it also placed far fewer demands on memory.

At the time, the game circulated mainly within a narrow circle of friends and computer clubs; it was later officially released, already as a historical curiosity, by the Proxima publishing house as part of the Fuxoft uvádí collection. Today, Poklad's value lies mainly in documenting the very beginnings of one of the most prolific creators of the Czechoslovak scene, and in showing how a complete gaming experience could be built with the most modest means and no commercial backing whatsoever. For today's player it's more of a historical artifact than playable entertainment, since the text-adventure genre now demands a considerable dose of patience, but historically it remains unmissable as the first step of a famous authorial career.
