LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is a sprawling family action-adventure from Traveller's Tales, which for the first time retold all nine episodes of the Star Wars saga in one package using the series' characteristic LEGO humor. Players work through key scenes from all three trilogies, solving simple environmental puzzles, building from bricks, and fighting enemies using dozens of different characters and their unique abilities, from Jedi Force powers to droids' technical skills. The game also offers a sprawling open galaxy with dozens of planets to freely explore outside the main story missions. Players can freely switch between the nine episodes in any order, collecting characters, bricks, and ship upgrades, gradually unlocking further content for repeated playthroughs of favorite scenes.
On PlayStation 5, the game runs smoothly even in sprawling open areas, with fast loading enabling near-instant travel between planets. Visually, it is one of the most detailed LEGO games released to date, featuring elaborate effects, dynamic lighting, and faithful recreations of iconic scenes and locations from every entry in the saga. Local two-player cooperation remains a key feature of the series, enabling shared story playthroughs as well as free exploration modes. John Williams' famous film scores accompany practically every scene and, together with the series' characteristic wordless humor, form the core of the game's overall atmosphere.
Upon release, the game was received very positively, with critics particularly praising the scope of the content, the quality of the humor, and the technical execution of the open world, which represented a significant step forward compared to previous LEGO titles. It became one of the most successful games built on the Star Wars brand and within the entire LEGO video game lineup. To this day it is considered a showcase example of how to combine fan service with accessible, family-friendly gameplay for players of all ages, regardless of whether they know the saga in detail or simply take the game as a fun opportunity to play together.
Why play it: For Star Wars fans and families alike looking for accessible fun full of humor and content from the entire saga, set in a sprawling, technically accomplished open world.
