FIFA 23

Sportovní simulace 2022 EA Vancouver FIFA ⏱ Very long · 30+ h

The last entry under the FIFA name, and the first to feature women's football in career mode.

FIFA 23 was the final installment of the long-running football series to carry the FIFA name, before the brand was renamed to EA Sports FC following publisher EA's split from the International Federation of Association Football. The game was the first to bring women's football into the main club career mode, added licenses for both the men's and women's top-tier world championships held that year, and technically improved the movement and duel system called HyperMotion2, based on motion data captured directly from real professional matches.

On PlayStation 5, the game ran at high resolution with a stable frame rate, featuring detailed stadiums, roaring crowds, and player animations that, thanks to advanced motion capture, felt smoother and more natural than on the previous console generation. It included fan-favorite modes such as club and player career, Volta Football focused on lighthearted small-sided street football, and the online Ultimate Team, long the series' most lucrative and most-played mode, built around collecting and trading player cards.

FIFA 23 was received as a solid, if not revolutionary, farewell to the old brand, with most of the media's and players' attention drawn to the upcoming renaming of the series for the following year. For fans of football simulations, it is the last entry to carry the historic FIFA name, and on PlayStation 5 it offers a content-rich title with thousands of licensed teams and players, still serving today as a solid choice for those who prefer the series' traditional name over the new brand. The atmosphere is rounded out by licensed leagues from dozens of countries, authentic stadiums with faithfully scanned details, and voice commentary in many languages, together creating the impression of watching a genuine televised football broadcast, even on older hardware carried over via backward compatibility.

Why play: For fans who prefer the series' traditional name over the new brand, it offers the last entry to carry the FIFA name, with thousands of licensed teams and an authentic stadium atmosphere.
