PGA Tour 2K23

PGA Tour 2K23 is a golf simulation by the Canadian studio HB Studios, published under the 2K label and featuring, for the first time in years, ambassador Tiger Woods, whose name returns to the series after years associated with rival golf brands. The game offers a realistic golf swing model controlled by moving the analog stick, licensed professional courses and real PGA Tour players, and an extensive MyCareer mode, in which the player gradually builds their own golfer from amateur tournaments through qualifiers up to the major championships.

On PlayStation 5, the game benefits from detailed golf courses with faithfully modeled terrain, dynamic weather and wind affecting ball flight, and smooth transitions between holes without lengthy loading. DualSense haptic feedback can subtly convey the quality of a shot based on the precision of the executed swing, adding another layer of feedback to otherwise largely visual, timing-based golf controls. Also included is the popular course editor, letting the community create and share their own courses to their imagination's content.

The 2K Golf series, formerly known as The Golf Club, has long been praised especially for its well-crafted course-creation system and honest, simulation-focused approach to the game itself, without unnecessary arcade compromises. PGA Tour 2K23 builds on that tradition and on PlayStation 5 offers one of the most complete golf simulations of its time, suited both to casual players and to fans seeking a deeper, longer-term career experience. The slower pace of play and lack of time pressure also make it a welcome, relaxing alternative to more action-packed sports titles available on the same console, further aided by online tournaments where players compete for leaderboard standings on the same courses under the same conditions.

Why play: For players seeking a calmer, honest golf simulation without time pressure, this is one of the most complete golf games of its time, including online tournaments for leaderboard standing.
