Dead Rising 4: Frank's Big Package

A year after its release on Xbox One and PC, Dead Rising 4 also arrived on PlayStation 4, though not in the same form in which the first players experienced the game. The release subtitled Frank's Big Package combines the base game with all the content that had been released in the meantime via the season pass - additional missions, costumes, and game modes - so PS4 players got the complete package right away, without having to buy the expansions separately piece by piece, as Xbox One and PC owners had to do gradually at launch. The package also includes earlier bonus modes such as the competitive survival mode against other players online, which had gradually been added to Dead Rising 4 through updates up to that point, so PS4 owners didn't have to track which content they still needed to buy and which they already had.

The most notable addition, however, was an entirely new mode called Frank Rising, in which, after the main hero becomes infected, the player gets to play for a while as the infected Frank himself - that is, from the perspective of a zombie among zombies, which is a fundamental reversal of the classic role of a photojournalist hunting zombies into the role of one of them, with completely different abilities, movement, and goals than a human armed with combined weapons - instead of collecting weapons and completing tasks, it's more about survival and hunting down the remaining survivors. This mode was not part of the original release for Xbox One and Windows, and it debuted on PS4 as a novelty in 2017, before later being added to the other platforms via an update as well. Given the year's gap, the complete season pass content, and the new game mode, this is a noticeably enriched offering compared to the original 2016 release, which will especially please players picking up Dead Rising 4 for the first time.
