Famidash
Famidash is a technically astonishing demake of the mobile hit Geometry Dash for the 8-bit NES/Famicom. The team at tfdsoft hand-wrote 14 levels in pure 6502 assembly on the MMC3 mapper and preserved the essentials - an uncompromising rhythm platformer where a single tap keeps your cube in a jump timed precisely to the music. Spikes, saws, and pits lie in wait, and a single wrong pixel sends you back to the start of the level. It includes a handy practice mode, chiptune remakes of the original tracks, selectable icons, camera controls, and even a two-player mode. That a game this fast and smooth runs on hardware from 1983 is one of the best proofs of how far today's NES scene has come. A cartridge release via Kickstarter is also in the works.
