Alwa's Awakening: The 8-Bit Edition

The 8-Bit Edition is a faithful downgrade of the modern hit Alwa's Awakening back onto a real NES - and paradoxically it feels as if it had been here since 1990. As the sorceress Zoe you explore the interconnected world of Alwa, gaining spells that summon blocks, bubbles, and lightning, and use them to unlock new paths in the finest metroidvania tradition. Elden Pixels completely rewrote the game for 8-bit hardware, including a cartridge release. A sprawling, cleverly built, and beautifully pixeled adventure platformer that would hold its own among the classics of the era.
