FRAMED 2 brings back the same principle of rearranging comic panels, this time with a new heroine and more elaborate scenes that often resolve several parallel storylines at once, further interwoven with characters from the first game. The player still drags panels across the screen with a finger, looking for the order in which a chase, a shootout, or an escape turns out in the character's favor — only the puzzles are more complex, more panels are added per scene, and some levels link several characters into one continuous sequence.

The creators expand the world of the first game with a parallel story that intertwines with the original and takes place in the same city at roughly the same time, and visually they continue the same noir aesthetic — dark streets, sharp shadows, a jazz backdrop that gives the chases a cinematic feel. Compared to the first game, this is a denser and somewhat longer experience that offers players familiar with the first FRAMED more complex puzzles without changing the game's basic rule, and new characters are gradually introduced as the two storylines converge.

Again, it's a paid game with no ads or microtransactions, which fits with FRAMED 2 being more of a self-contained sequel than a service meant for long-term play, and the one-time price with no further payments stayed the same across both games in the series. For players who know the first game, the sequel is a logical next step; for newcomers it works on its own too, though the connection between the two stories will be appreciated mainly by those who played both.
