A two-in-one cartridge combining the PGA golf simulation with the frantic rescue of Lemmings.

Two utterly different worlds on a single platform: on one side the calm of a golf course, on the other the hectic rescue of blue-haired imps from their own stupidity. PGA and Lemmings represent two faces of what the Mega Drive offered beyond the action mainstream.

The golf portion, in the spirit of the PGA series, is built on an honest simulation of the sport: you measure the strength of your swing, account for the wind, the slope of the terrain and your choice of club. It's a game of patience and focus, where every stroke demands deliberation and where satisfaction arrives with each well-read green. For lovers of sports simulations it's a relaxing but surprisingly contemplative experience that can absorb you for hours on end.

Lemmings, by contrast, is one of the most legendary puzzle concepts of its era. A crowd of little creatures marches blindly forward, and your task is to guide as many of them as possible to the goal by assigning individuals roles — digger, builder, blocker, floater and others. From a simple concept grows a fiendishly clever game where every level is a puzzle requiring the right timing and creative use of limited abilities. Lemmings became a phenomenon across platforms and rightly ranks among the most influential puzzle games of all time.

The pairing of these two titles is really a small lesson in genre diversity: one offers calm, methodical pondering over a green lawn, the other feverish puzzle-solving under the pressure of time. But both share the fact that they reward thinking over haste.

Lemmings in particular proved that a clever idea doesn't need lavish graphics — all it takes is a perfectly tuned gameplay loop that won't let you go until you've saved even the very last imp.

Why play: For players who want a break from action — whether in the form of contemplative golf or the timeless Lemmings puzzle, which ranks among the gems of the puzzle genre.
