MotoGP 24

MotoGP 24 is the current entry in the official motorcycle racing simulation from the Italian studio Milestone, which has long devoted itself to the MotoGP series while also developing the motocross series MXGP and the road-racing series Ride, so it draws on a wealth of accumulated experience with the genre of motorcycle simulations and shares it across its different brands. On Xbox Series X/S it offers a complete licensed MotoGP season including riders, teams, tracks, and the supporting Moto2, Moto3, and electric MotoE classes. The game prides itself on a demanding physics model of riding, in which players must watch tire temperature, tire wear, and the motorcycle's stability while leaning through corners, making it more of a simulation for motorsport fans than a lightweight arcade racer. The career mode takes players from the lower classes through their own team all the way to the premier MotoGP class itself, with the option to negotiate sponsorship deals and upgrade the motorcycle between races throughout the season.

On the new generation of consoles, what stands out most is the smoothness of rider and motorcycle animations and the detailed rendering of the circuits, including variable weather that significantly affects riding style, tire choice, and pit-stop strategy. The sound design of roaring engines and gear shifts underscores the intensity of races on circuits like Mugello, Assen, or Phillip Island, where even a small mistake in a lean angle or late braking before a corner means a crash and the loss of precious seconds.

The series' annual release cycle means individual entries tend to differ more in details and updated rider rosters than in major new features, and MotoGP 24 is no exception in this regard. For motorcycle racing fans, though, it remains the most complete official simulation of the MotoGP season available on current-generation consoles, including the chance to live through an entire season from testing through practice sessions all the way to the championship's grand finale.

Why play it: Motorcycle racing fans will find in MotoGP 24 the most complete official simulation of the MotoGP season on current-generation consoles, from testing all the way to the championship's grand finale.
