The most ambitious entry in the series to date; a new engine and licensed machinery like John Deere.

Farming Simulator 19 brought the most ambitious installment yet of the long-running farming simulation series to Xbox One, this time powered by a completely reworked graphics engine that significantly improved the visual quality of fields, machinery, and weather compared to previous entries. Players managed their own farm from the ground up — a sown field had to be plowed, seeded, tended, and finally harvested, with the whole process interwoven with raising animals, growing various crops, and gradually expanding a fleet of machinery featuring dozens of licensed agricultural brands such as John Deere or Case IH, each machine with its own specifications, performance, and behavior in the field.

Unlike action-oriented racing titles, the game relied on a calm, deliberate pace and managerial decisions — when to sow, which crop to choose based on market demand, or how to efficiently invest earnings into new machines and buildings. Multiplayer let players manage a farm together with friends, which proved to be a surprisingly popular way to spend time, and the game also offered, for the first time in the series, a more elaborate system of seasonal weather changes affecting crop growth and the need to plan work ahead, including preparing machinery for winter.

On Xbox One the game ran stably, and the new engine showed especially in the more detailed rendering of fields, forests, and machinery, even though it was primarily a title built on content and depth of systems rather than technical showmanship. Contemporary reviews praised the scope of the simulation and its accessibility for newcomers and veterans of previous entries alike, who appreciated the smooth transition to the new visual style. Farming Simulator 19 confirmed that the farming simulator genre has a solid and surprisingly broad audience on consoles, one that seeks a different kind of relaxation than action or racing titles and enjoys returning to the long-term building of its own farm.

Why play: For fans of farming simulators who want to relax through the long-term building of their own farm instead of action or racing, and who will appreciate its accessibility for newcomers too.
