Papa's Pizzeria
Papa's Pizzeria puts the player behind the counter of a pizzeria, where they must follow orders step by step: preparing the dough, spreading the sauce, arranging the toppings exactly as the customer wants, and baking and slicing the pizza at the right moment. Control is purely by mouse through a sequence of stations - from preparation through baking to serving - and the tension arises because orders gradually pile up and the player must juggle several pizzas in progress at once, without any of them burning or a customer losing patience and leaving unsatisfied, which is reflected in tips and the overall shift rating.
The 2007 game was created by Flipline Studios and became the founder of the entire "Papa's" series, which over the following years grew to include dozens of sequels with different dishes, restaurants, customizable customers, and increasingly elaborate systems of customization and rewards. At the time of release, it was one of the first prominent representatives of so-called time management games on the web - titles where the main challenge is handling multiple tasks at once under time pressure - and it was Papa's Pizzeria that helped popularize this subgenre on Flash portals.
Today, players can access the original web version mainly through archival Flash portals, since browsers stopped supporting Flash; the series itself, however, lives on in modern platforms in the form of newer installments.
Why play it: For fans of relaxed time management games who want to get to know the title that founded the long-running and still-popular Papa's series.
