The Walking Dead: Season Two

The Walking Dead: Season Two followed up on Telltale Games' first season, highly praised by critics and players alike, but this time from the point of view of little Clementine, the girl who was accompanied by Lee Everett in the first run. This change of perspective gave the story a different emotional charge - Clementine is no longer just a protected character but must make hard survival decisions herself in a collapsed world full of the infected and of people who are often more dangerous than the dead.

The gameplay stays true to the series' episodic style, that is an emphasis on dialogue, moral choices with long-term consequences and quick-time events during action scenes, while classic adventure puzzles are reduced to a minimum in favor of smooth storytelling. The visual style with its distinctive comic-book shading and the music underscoring the oppressive atmosphere stayed the same as in the previous season, which ensured a consistent experience for fans of the series.

The season consists of five episodes released gradually over the course of a year, and the decisions made in the first season and in the add-on episode 400 Days carried into the story in the form of smaller references and variable dialogue. Critics praised above all the performance of Clementine's voice actress and the emotional intensity of the final episodes, although some players perceived a drop in quality compared to the first season. Even so, the second season remains an important part of one of the most influential narrative adventures of its generation.
