Titan Quest
Titan Quest brought to mobile phones one of the most distinctive action RPGs of the mid-2000s, which in its day rivaled Diablo with its own take on mythology and an extensive system of hero classes. The player travels through an ancient world inspired by Greek, Egyptian, and other mythologies, wipes out crowds of enemies, and gradually combines two skill trees into their own unique character build according to their own playstyle.
HandyGames handled the transfer to the touchscreen with a virtual joystick for movement and buttons for skills, supplemented by an auto-attack option by tapping an enemy, which makes longer play sessions on a small display easier. The scope of the original game – including expansions and gear management mechanics – has been preserved almost unchanged, which makes the mobile version a full-fledged replacement for the computer original rather than just a stripped-down variant. The graphics were slightly adjusted for smaller screens compared to 2006, but the basic atmosphere of ancient landscapes, temples, and the underworld remains untouched.
The game is a one-time paid purchase with no ads or microtransactions, placing it among the more honest mobile ports of major computer titles. Thanks to its large amount of content, saveable progress, and solid controls, it remains among the recommended choices for players looking for a genuine action RPG in their pocket.
Why play it: A great choice for fans of Diablo-like games who want an extensive action RPG with dozens of hours of content for a one-time price.
