A mobile clone of Vampire Survivors; surviving a horde of undead with a growing arsenal.

Survivor.io brings the Vampire Survivors recipe to mobile: the character moves around an arena via a virtual joystick as it's gradually flooded with hordes of zombies, while weapons shoot and attack on their own based on what the player picks between waves, leaving the player to decide only where to go, what to avoid, and how much longer to survive. Habby added a stronger story framing about a handful of survivors in a zombie apocalypse to the original simple concept, along with a more elaborate system for upgrading characters, armor, and companions, plus regular seasonal events, turning what was a short, almost demo-like example of the genre into a long-term mobile game with dozens of hours of content and hundreds of gear combinations.

Monetization is typically free-to-play: energy limiting the number of runs per day, ads offering bonus rewards, a seasonal battle pass, and collecting characters and gear through crates similar to gacha systems from other mobile genres. The game thus lures players with the same addictive loop as Archero from the same studio – short, clear battles alternating with picking upgrades and gradually powering up the character – just with a visually denser, darker zombie setting and a greater emphasis on mass on-screen effects, which holds up to repeated play noticeably better than quickly tiring auto-shooters. Regular time-limited events and new zones also give players a reason to come back even after finishing the main campaign.

Why play it: For Vampire Survivors players who want the same principle portable in their pocket and don't mind a free-to-play pace with energy and purchases instead of a one-time payment for the original PC version.
