A pandemic simulation from the virus's point of view; the goal is to wipe out humanity before it finds a cure.

Plague Inc. turns the classic premise on its head – instead of playing a rescuer, you play the infection itself, guiding it from the very first symptom to infecting the entire world before scientists manage to find a cure. The controls are simple: tap to open up the map and pick mutations that increase infectivity, climate resistance, or lethality, while you watch the colorful spread of the disease creep across continents in real time measured only by the game's own progress, not by a clock.

The game was created by the British studio Ndemic Creations and is built on a surprisingly serious simulation of epidemic spread, where transport hubs, population density, and individual governments' reactions to the growing threat all matter. The choice of pathogen type, from an ordinary bacterium through a virus to more fantastical scenarios, gives the game noticeable replay value, since each strategy requires a different order of mutations and a different pace of spread before governments realize what is happening and start closing borders and airports.

The game charges for basic access but also offers additional purchases of extra scenarios, diseases, and game modes, a common model that has kept it updated for more than ten years since its original release. It has drawn particular attention during periods of real health crises, when the public and media repeatedly noticed how closely the game's mechanics resembled real news about disease spread and individual countries' reactions.

Why play it: Good for players who want a strategy game with genuine decision-making depth and don't mind an unconventional, thematically raw perspective on a pandemic from the other side.
