MLB The Show 24
MLB The Show 24 is a baseball simulation developed by San Diego Studio that, since 2021, has also made its way to Xbox consoles after years of exclusivity on PlayStation platforms. On Xbox Series X/S it offers a complete Major League Baseball license including all teams, stadiums, and players, with a sophisticated batting and pitching system that demands precise button timing, reading the type of pitch thrown, its spin, and judging its trajectory over home plate. The Road to the Show career mode follows your own player from the draft through the minor leagues and a gradual rise to major-league stardom, while March to October offers a sped-up simulation of an entire season with an emphasis on key games, decisive moments, and the fight for a playoff spot. The popular Diamond Dynasty mode, meanwhile, is built around collecting cards of players and legends from across the league's history and assembling them into a dream team for online matches against other players.
On the new generation of consoles, the game can rely on smooth player animations and finely rendered stadiums that faithfully recreate the atmosphere of real MLB games, including changing lighting during evening games and crowd reactions to key hits and tense moments with two outs and the bases loaded. The commentary and crowd sound do a good job of conveying the atmosphere of an entire season, from spring training through the long regular season to the tense playoff series and the World Series finale.
The series' move to multiplatform releases has allowed MLB The Show 24 to reach players who previously had no access to a baseball simulation on consoles. For sports fans, it's the most polished baseball game available today, now accessible beyond Sony platforms too, with support for cross-generation save progression and regular roster updates that reflect real events during the season.
