Lightning-fast absurd minigames controlled with two Joy-Cons held together as one object.

WarioWare: Move It! is another entry in Nintendo's famous series of lightning-fast minigames, where the player completes utterly absurd tasks in a matter of seconds - from pulling a tooth to imitating animals to balancing on one leg. Instead of classic button controls, the game requires two Joy-Cons held together as a single object; the player tilts, rotates, and shakes them according to instructions that appear on screen only for an instant. What makes the series special is its pace - individual minigames last mere seconds, and their speed and difficulty gradually increase, so playing feels like a rapid test of reflexes, perception, and sense of the absurd all at once.

The game introduces its own play style called "form," where the tilt of the joined Joy-Cons corresponds to the movement of the character on screen - each minigame becomes a short piece of physical theater that's just as fun to watch as to play. Dozens of characters from the WarioWare universe are available, each with their own set of movement gags and their own story segment, and the game also supports multiple people playing at once, with controllers passed or alternated between players. It's the first mainline entry in the series on Switch after several years' hiatus, and its exclusive motion controls clearly set it apart from older entries based on buttons or a single gyroscope.

The story mode follows Wario and his gang to a tropical island, where the locals own a rare statue that Wario covets; the characters from his gang gradually become playable, and each brings their own set of minigames thematically tied to their personality. Besides the main campaign, the game also offers a collection of party minigames for multiple players that extend its lifespan well beyond the story itself. The WarioWare series has been running since 2003, and Move It! is its first entry designed exclusively around physical controls, setting it apart even from the older Switch entry Get It Together!, built on classic character control with a d-pad and buttons.

Why play: An ideal choice for a family evening or a party - you can explain the rules in a minute, but the physical antics in front of the TV reliably crack up both viewers and players who otherwise don't usually go for games.
