Wipeout Omega Collection VR is a free expansion of the Wipeout Omega Collection that lets players race selected tracks of the futuristic anti-gravity series directly from the cockpit of their craft in the PSVR headset. The game retains the series' extremely high pace and demanding controls, where the player balances speed, collecting energy for weapons and shields, and precisely navigating turns on tracks that run through canyons, cities, and futuristic complexes. In VR mode, the cockpit view further heightens the sense of real speed and depth, as peripheral vision catches the blurring surroundings alongside the craft. Players can choose from several ships with different acceleration, handling, and durability characteristics, which, combined with the weapon- and defense-collecting mode, gives what looks at first like a purely racing game a tactical dimension of combat between pilots.
