Firewall Ultra

Takticka strilecka 2023 First Contact Entertainment ⏱ Medium · ~3–10 h

The sequel to Firewall Zero Hour; tactical 4v4 shootouts with a single life per round.

Firewall Ultra is a PSVR2-exclusive tactical multiplayer shooter and a direct sequel to the popular Firewall Zero Hour from the headset's previous generation. Players split into two four-person teams, attackers and defenders, where one side tries to capture and hack a secured laptop while the other defends it for the entire round — rounds are short and tense, since a single fatal hit means that player is out until the next round. The emphasis on a slower, tactical approach, team communication, and using cover instead of running blindly makes the game more of a thoughtful take on classic tactical shooters than fast arcade action.

In the PSVR2 version, the game uses precise Sense controller tracking for realistic weapon handling and aiming, including physically looking down a sight or leaning out from behind cover, and the adaptive triggers provide different resistance depending on the weapon type. The map environments, from abandoned industrial zones to dockside warehouses, are designed with plenty of narrow corridors, windows, and hidden paths that encourage cautious movement and ambushes. Spatial audio plays a key role — footsteps, doors opening, or a weapon being unholstered can be heard from every direction, and experienced players use them to gauge an opponent's position before they even see them.

Firewall Ultra continued its predecessor's reputation as one of the most seriously crafted VR shooters and was received as proof that even a competitive multiplayer genre can work on PSVR2 with enough depth for long-term play. Players who spent dozens of hours in Firewall Zero Hour and were looking for a smoother, more technically advanced sequel especially appreciated the improved visuals and more precise controller tracking compared to the first generation of the headset. The combination of tactical pacing, physical weapon handling, and well-designed maps makes it one of the top choices on the platform for players seeking a competitive experience with a higher degree of strategic demand than faster arcade shooters.

Why play: For Firewall Zero Hour veterans looking for a smoother, more technically advanced sequel with more precise controller tracking — the tactical pace suits players with strategic patience.
