Star Wars Battlefront II

The great battle of Hoth, dogfights above the orbit, clones against separatists — and all of it in the palm of your hand. The pocket version of Star Wars Battlefront II brought sprawling battles from the star saga to the PSP and proved that epic warfare need not remain the privilege of big consoles.

The core of the gameplay is expansive battles where you, as a single soldier in the midst of chaos, capture strategic points, switch between various types of units, and gradually decide the fate of the entire map. Battlefront never aimed for a realistic simulation — it is about the feeling of being part of a huge battle from the films, where fighting rages around you on many fronts at once. This „large-scale" atmosphere is what made the series famous.

The variety is also enticing: you fight on the ground as well as in space, control infantry, vehicles, and iconic fighters, and in certain modes you even take a spin as heroes and villains from the Star Wars universe. The ability to sit in the cockpit of an X-wing or swing a lightsaber as a famous character adds spice and fan service to the battles, keeping you coming back to the game.

For the PSP it was an ambitious conversion that tried to preserve as much of the magic of the big versions as possible — from diverse maps across the saga to multiplayer support, thanks to which you could wage battles together with friends. It was precisely the multiplayer and the replayability of the individual clashes that made the title a great travel companion.

For every Star Wars fan as well as for lovers of action shooters with a team dimension, the pocket Battlefront II is a winning bet. It offers the right feeling of taking part in legendary battles — whenever and wherever you pull the console out of your pocket.

Why play it: Epic battles from the Star Wars world on the ground and in space, with playable heroes and multiplayer — large-scale action right in your pocket.
