Sequel with reversed roles; humanity fights as guerrillas against the alien occupation.

XCOM 2 Collection turns the roles of the previous game upside down – humanity lost the invasion, and the player now leads a guerrilla war against the alien occupation from a hidden mobile base. Feral Interactive, which specializes in porting demanding strategy games to mobile devices, brought over not just the base game but the entire collection, including expansions that add further factions, soldiers, and gameplay mechanics.

Compared to the first XCOM, the pace here is faster and less forgiving – mission time limits force the player to take risks and improvise instead of advancing slowly step by step, which places higher demands on clarity on a small screen. Gesture and tap controls work reliably, but because of the amount of information on screen (action indicators, cover, visibility, concealment status), the game is more comfortable to play on a tablet than on a regular phone. Visually it's just as detailed as the PC version, including unit and environment animations, which also means higher demands on device performance and storage.

This is a paid title with no ads, and the price reflects the extensive content of the collection, including both expansions with additional factions and mechanics. For players who mastered the first game, the reversed perspective of guerrilla warfare is refreshing – instead of building an empire and defending a base, it's about survival, sabotage, and quick escape, which changes the tactics of every single mission and forces riskier approaches than before.

Why play it: Worth it for players who know the first XCOM and want a tougher, faster-paced sequel with guerrilla tactics, ideally on a tablet with sufficient performance.
