KAMI 2
KAMI 2 is a color puzzle built on a simple rule: by tapping, you change the color of connected areas on a paper grid so that the whole image eventually unifies into a single shade, in as few moves as possible. The further the player advances through the levels, the more complex and colorful the origami patterns become, and the game itself calculates the minimum possible number of moves, so you can replay any level in search of a more elegant, more efficient solution to the same puzzle. Progression between levels is gradual, so the player picks up the mechanic before truly complex grids arrive.
The visual side is key to the game — paper texture, subtle fold shadows, and a pleasant, well-considered color palette give the game the look of hand-folded origami, setting it apart from most colorful "flood fill" puzzles on the market. Controls are purely touch-based, a single tap on a shape, and so the game works just as well on a phone as on a tablet with a larger screen. It also includes an editor where players can create and share their own puzzle grids, which noticeably extended the game's lifespan well beyond the official campaign and brought hundreds of community levels.
KAMI 2 followed up on the success of the original KAMI and expanded the concept with daily challenges and community content, turning a one-off puzzle game into a title with long-term reach and a lasting community of level creators. Monetization is mild — the game is available for free with the option of a one-time unlock for the full campaign and no aggressive ads, so it doesn't feel intrusive even during longer play sessions, when other games in the genre commonly ramp up their offers.
Why play it: Suitable for fans of calm color puzzles who value an elegant solution to a problem more than speed of completion.
