Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile
Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is Activision's attempt to bring the sprawling battle royale experience from consoles and PC, without changing its format, straight into your pocket. On a map where dozens of players fight for survival, controls run through virtual joysticks and buttons scattered across the screen, though the game also supports external controllers and offers a fairly wide range of sensitivity and layout settings — without them, precise aiming on a touchscreen is hard to come by. The game shares weapons, gear, and part of its progression with the series' major entries on other platforms, so players can carry their pool of unlocked items across devices.
The graphics try to keep pace with console Warzone, which takes its toll on older phones in the form of frame rate drops and high demands on storage and data connections. The game is free to download and funds itself through a battle pass and cosmetic microtransactions, similar to the parent game on PC and consoles — standard practice for battle royale titles, but still an extra expense for players who want to unlock looks quickly instead of patiently earning free content.
Why play it: For Call of Duty fans who want a battle royale experience close to the console version on their phone too, though they should expect it to be demanding on phone performance and data usage.
