Bloons TD 6
Bloons TD 6 brought the long-running Bloons series into a fully three-dimensional form in 2018 while staying true to its trademark humor – monkey towers of various types try to pop waves of colorful balloons before they reach the end of the path. Ninja Kiwi kept the clear touch controls from previous installments: placing a tower is a tap, upgrading is another, and the player gradually combines dozens of tower types with their own upgrade trees and special abilities.
The move to 3D graphics gave the series visual freshness without disrupting map readability, which is crucial for tower defense. The game also offers extensive content beyond the base campaign – co-op play, leaderboards, regular challenges, and unlockable rewards, which keep players active long after finishing the main maps. Monetization is more restrained than in many other free-to-play titles; the game is sold as a one-time purchase with optional add-ons, not as a purely free-to-play economy built around waiting.
Bloons TD 6 became one of the most complete tower defense titles on mobile and confirmed that even a long-running series can successfully adapt to more modern graphics without losing its core. Regular support with new content also means the game looks and plays differently today than on release day, without ceasing to be the same game for the series' longtime fans.
Why play it: For tower defense fans looking for a content-rich title with an honest one-time price instead of an aggressive free-to-play economy.
