Two Point Campus
Two Point Campus is a university management simulation from the British studio Two Point Studios, which built on the successful concept of the hospital simulation Two Point Hospital and carried a similar humorous style into the world of higher education. As the administrator, the player gradually designs classrooms, dormitories, cafeterias, and recreational spaces, hires teachers and staff, resolves their disputes, and looks after students who choose from a range of invented, often absurd majors such as wizardry, knight science, espionage, or cuisine based on cabbage clumps, with each major bringing its own specific equipment and space requirements.
The gameplay is built on budget management, schedule planning, and keeping both students and staff happy, which recalls classic economic and building simulations, but with a strong emphasis on humor and stylized graphics full of exaggerated, cartoonish characters. On Xbox Series X and S, the extra power translates into faster loading of sprawling campuses and smoother rendering of dozens of characters at once, which matters a great deal once a university's growth has long outgrown its original footprint. Lighthearted music and sound effects, including the characteristic gibberish mumbling of the characters reminiscent of a made-up language, round out the game's generally friendly and witty atmosphere, which players looking for relaxing fun after a demanding day will appreciate.
Reviews praised above all the addictive gameplay, witty writing, and the high variety of the different campus scenarios, each bringing its own challenges, weather, and specific goals. Two Point Campus confirmed that management simulations have a solid place on consoles even beyond the traditional PC audience, and thanks to its accessible controls and lighthearted tone, it also won over players who otherwise usually avoid the genre because of the usual complexity and dry, purely economic presentation of older titles of this type.
Why play it: For its addictive gameplay, witty writing, and varied campus scenarios, it's a great choice even for players who otherwise avoid management simulations because of their usual dryness.
