A sequel to The Conduit with a more elaborate campaign and a broader weapon arsenal.

The Conduit 2 followed up on the original The Conduit and tried to fix the shortcomings that both players and reviewers had pointed out in the first entry — it brought a more elaborate campaign with more locations around the world, including exotic and underwater environments, improved enemy AI, and an expanded weapon arsenal including alien technology. The story continues the conspiracy thread about a secret alien invasion and government plots, which the player uncovers while progressing through a narrative that alternates more open battlefields with tighter, more scripted sequences and occasional humor that the previous entry lacked. Over the course of the campaign the player encounters new factions and alien races, each bringing a different combat style and requiring different tactics when working through individual levels.

The game used an improved version of the Quantum3 engine from High Voltage Software, which delivered some of the technically most ambitious visuals on Wii, including more detailed textures, more elaborate effects, and a more stable frame rate than previous FPS titles on the platform. Controls once again relied on precise Wii Remote aiming with MotionPlus support, allowing finer and faster reactions than the typical analog controls on competing consoles. The multiplayer component offered a wide range of modes including team-based and deathmatch variants, customizable characters, and tried to compete with major console shooter brands, a fairly bold and ambitious goal on Wii at the time. Various maps and game modes inspired by other console shooters were also available, meant to keep players engaged with the game long after finishing the campaign itself.

Contemporary reception was mixed to mildly positive, but many players today still consider The Conduit 2 one of the technically most capable and ambitious FPS titles on Wii, one that nonetheless received relatively little public attention and remains something of an overlooked gem of the platform for fans of sci-fi shooters.
