Arcade snowboarding at its best. You ride one giant connected mountain from peak to base, completing races and pulling off outrageous tricks high above the ground. A great sense of speed, stylish visuals and an energetic soundtrack create an addictive ride. SSX 3 perfectly balances adrenaline with the freedom to explore the slopes. The connected mountain with no loading felt spectacular for its time. The trick system rewards both boldness and precision. One of the best and most enjoyable sports arcades ever.

Both 2003 versions offer the same interconnected Peak 3 mountain split into three peaks, and the same racing, trick, and slalom disciplines with no loading screens. The Xbox version benefited from stronger hardware — the image is sharper and the framerate steadier even in scenes packed with snow and particle effects — and it was also the only one to offer online play via Xbox Live. PlayStation 2 remained the lead release platform and the most widely owned choice among players, but for the smoothest graphics and online play, Xbox is the better pick.
