Focuses solely on the F-15 Eagle; an in-depth cockpit and avionics model.

Jane's F-15 focused on one specific aircraft type - the F-15 Eagle fighter - and offered players a detailed model of its flight, avionics, and weaponry within modern combat scenarios. Unlike the broader titles in the Jane's Combat Simulations line, this game went deep on a single aircraft, which allowed more attention to be devoted to simulating individual cockpit systems and the plane's behavior in different flight regimes. The campaign offered a sequence of missions set in various crisis regions of the world, and players could switch between simplified and fully realistic controls. The intricately detailed cockpit with functioning displays and instruments was among the things that set the simulation apart from more action-oriented flight titles of the time. Missions took place in various regional conflicts and forced players to adapt tactics according to the type of enemy and the weather conditions over the battlefield.

The graphics matched the standard of the late nineties, and the game benefited from 3D acceleration support, thanks to which missions with a larger number of units remained playable even on mid-range machines. The sound design, including warning systems and communication with AWACS and wingmen, contributed to the tense atmosphere of modern air combat. Focusing on a single aircraft type allowed the developers to work out its radar, weapon systems, and behavior during various maneuvers in detail, an approach that earned it a reputation among part of the audience as one of the most accurate simulations of its kind.

Jane's F-15 is remembered today as one of the titles that managed to offer the depth of a specialized simulator within the wider Jane's Combat Simulations brand. For fans of aviation history it's interesting precisely for its focus on one specific aircraft, which allowed for more detailed treatment than titles covering entire squadrons of different aircraft types.

Why play: Thanks to its focus on a single aircraft and the resulting more detailed treatment, it will appeal to players who prefer the depth of a specialized simulator over the breadth of covering entire squadrons.
