Infinity Blade: Dungeons
Infinity Blade: Dungeons is a spin-off from the main Infinity Blade trilogy that, instead of one-on-one duels, focuses on dungeon crawling from an isometric action RPG perspective. Players explore procedurally generated dungeons, fight enemies with swords and spells, and collect gear and cards that gradually upgrade their abilities and unlock new attacks. Story-wise, the game takes place in the same world as the rest of the series and expands the mythology surrounding the Infinity Blade with characters and events that don't appear directly in the main entries, broadening the background for fans who want to know more without having to replay the main games.
Unlike the rest of the series, which was developed by Chair Entertainment and built on first-person duels with timed blocking and dodging, Dungeons was created by Impossible Studios, a subsidiary of Epic Games, and offers a completely different take on gameplay and visual style, closer to a classic top-down action RPG than the dueling system fans of the series were used to. The game was designed purely for touch controls on mobile devices, with finger dragging for movement and attacks and a simple interface for managing cards and items, so despite sharing the same world it feels more like a standalone spin-off than a direct sequel. After Impossible Studios shut down in 2014, the game was pulled from sale, and today its content can only be accessed on previously purchased devices where the game remained installed before it was removed from the store.
Why play it: The game will appeal to fans of the Infinity Blade universe who want to see the same world from a different angle, as well as players who enjoy fast mobile dungeon crawlers for shorter play sessions. Since it was a mobile title tied to period servers and support, it's more of a historical curiosity than a game with the long-term lifespan of a live service.
