Everybody's Golf VR

Sportovní 2019 Clap Hanz ⏱ Medium · ~3–10 h

The friendly Clap Hanz golf series, where swinging the Move controller genuinely controls the ball's flight.

Everybody's Golf VR brings the relaxed, friendly golf series by Clap Hanz into virtual reality and lets the player physically mimic a golf swing using the Move controller, which functions as a virtual club. The swing of the arm, the speed of the stroke, and the angle of impact directly affect the ball's flight, so the game requires genuine movement coordination rather than just pressing a button at the right moment, as was typical of the series' previous entries on classic screens. The player plays through several courses with varying terrain, weather, and difficulty, while the series retains its typically lighthearted, welcoming tone without requiring deep knowledge of golf rules.

In its VR form, the game gains authenticity from the fact that the player watches the ball from their own eyes directly at the tee or on the green, which helps in better estimating distances and terrain slope than a classic on-screen view. The visual style continues the series' colorful, friendly aesthetic with distinctive characters and sunny, relaxing course environments, complemented by soothing music that underscores the game's non-aggressive, laid-back atmosphere. At the same time, the physical arm movement with every swing gives playing golf in VR an unexpectedly active, almost sporty dimension, distinct from more passive sports titles on a classic console.

Everybody's Golf VR was received as one of the most accessible sports titles on PSVR, suitable both for experienced fans of the series and complete newcomers, who appreciated that the physical arm swing works intuitively without lengthy learning and without frustration from inaccurately read movement. The game showed that even a traditionally calmer sports genre can offer a refreshing, physically active experience in virtual reality without losing its original, undemanding and welcoming character. For many players it became a favorite casual game they return to for short, relaxed rounds between more demanding action titles on the headset.

Why play: For players seeking a short, relaxed round of golf between more demanding action titles – the intuitive arm swing works without lengthy learning and appeals to experienced players and complete newcomers alike.
