Total War: Warhammer III

Total War: Warhammer III concludes the fantasy trilogy in which Creative Assembly combined turn-based empire-building strategy with spectacular real-time battles involving thousands of units. The third installment introduces the Realm of Chaos campaign, in which the player leads one of the factions – whether icy Kislev, oriental Cathay, or the brutal Ogre Kingdoms – across a corrupted landscape full of demonic legions, fighting their way toward the very throne of Chaos itself. The campaign is built as a self-contained story with its own map, distinct from the classic Old World – the player travels through portals between the realms of the four gods of Chaos, each with its own rules and visual style. The series stays true to its core: on the strategic map the player manages the economy, handles diplomacy, and recruits armies, while the battles themselves play out on a three-dimensional battlefield, where terrain, unit morale, and a commander's tactics all matter.

Warhammer III's biggest asset, however, is the Immortal Empires campaign, a huge sandbox that merges the maps and factions from all three games in the series into one massive world with dozens of playable factions and hundreds of legendary lords. This turns what would otherwise be a one-off campaign into a long-term project in which the player can choose virtually any playstyle they like – from a slow build-up of an empire to an aggressive campaign full of lightning conquests. The game also continues to receive content updates, paid new-faction packs, and free balance patches, and later gained a standalone multiplayer mode called Domination focused on quick battles without having to play through an entire campaign.
