A fast platformer inspired by Wario Land; a combo system drives the player up the tower without stopping.

Pizza Tower is a fast action platformer inspired by the style of the Wario Land games, in which the player controls an eccentric pizza chef named Peppino racing through a bizarre, cartoonishly animated tower to save his pizzeria from demolition. The key element of the gameplay is extreme movement speed and a combo system — the player tries to blast through a level without stopping, racking up points for flashy cascades of moves, and at the end of the level fleeing a ticking time bomb back to the exit.

The game is built on elaborate, physically satisfying movement that lets the player chain jumps, slides, wall-breaks, and special abilities into fluid acrobatic sequences, making repeated runs through a level rewarding in themselves for players chasing a perfect run. Visually, the game dazzles with aggressively exaggerated, rubbery animation heavily inspired by classic cartoons, along with a playful, energetic soundtrack that perfectly matches the gameplay's frantic pace.

While fleeing a burning level, the player is attacked by grotesque enemies and triggers an avalanche of absurd transformations, gags, and visual jokes referencing classic animated series. Besides the fast run-through, the game also offers a secondary goal of collecting hidden secrets and bonus content tucked away off the main path, so replayability rests both on the hunt for speed and on thorough exploration.

Pizza Tower began as a passion project by a small team of genre fans and, upon release, received an enthusiastic reception for how it managed to revive and modernize mechanics the mainstream industry had long neglected. Critics and players alike particularly praised the depth of its movement system, its humor, and its distinctive visual identity, which quickly made the game a cult favorite and one of the most talked-about indie titles of its year. Today it is considered one of the best modern examples of the fast, skill-demanding platformer genre built on freedom of movement.

Why play: For fans of fast, skill-demanding platformers built on freedom of movement, with a distinctive visual identity and humor that made it a cult favorite.
