Arma Reforger

Arma Reforger is a game by the Czech studio Bohemia Interactive that serves as a technology showcase for the new Enfusion engine, which the upcoming Arma 4 will also be built on, while also being a full-fledged multiplayer game in its own right. Instead of the modern or Middle Eastern conflicts the series has grown used to in recent entries like Arma 3, it returns to the fictional island of Everon, made famous by the even older Operation Flashpoint from 2001, offering a reworked version of it on a much larger scale, with denser vegetation, more detailed terrain, dynamic weather, and significantly higher graphical and simulation fidelity than previous entries in the series could ever offer on period hardware.

The game focuses mainly on large multiplayer conflicts between two factions, where players jointly defend or capture strategic points, resupply with ammunition and vehicles from depots, and have to coordinate radio communication, transport, and logistics, a long-standing hallmark of the entire Arma series that sets it apart from faster, more arcade-like military action games. Weapons and vehicles also behave according to realistic ballistics and physics, so distance, wind, and terrain conditions all affect the outcome of combat. Reforger launched first in early access and was built from the start with a strong emphasis on the modding community — players can download and upload their own maps, missions, and modifications directly through the built-in Workshop, which noticeably extended the game's lifespan and expanded its content far beyond what Bohemia Interactive itself provided directly.
